Wade Herring, a partner at the law firm of HunterMaclean, was recently admitted to the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation, an honorary organization of attorneys, judges and law professors who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession. Membership in The Fellows is limited to one third of one percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction.
Established in 1955, The Fellows encourage and support the research programs of the American Bar Foundation, an organization which is dedicated to advancing justice through research on law, legal institutions and legal processes. Members are nominated by Fellows in their jurisdiction and elected by the Board of the American Bar Foundation.
A fellow of the Lawyers Foundation of Georgia and a past president of the Savannah Bar Association, Herring focuses on all aspects of employment problems and issues, including internal employment practices, wage-hour issues, drug testing, sexual harassment, equal employment opportunity, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and employee benefits.
Currently, Herring serves as President of the Savannah East Rotary Club and as Secretary of the Board of Trustees at The Savannah Country Day School. He is a long-time member of the Society for Human Resource Managers and serves on the Dartmouth Alumni Council.
Herring received his A.B. from Dartmouth College, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, graduating magna cum laude. He received his juris doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Georgia, where he was a Woodruff Scholar and a member of the Order of Coif. After law school, he served as clerk for the Honorable Dudley H. Bowen, Jr., for two years in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Georgia.
