Brian Sopp is a partner in HunterMaclean’s Savannah office, where he focuses his practice on employment law.
Brian is an experienced litigator who has successfully defended clients in state and federal courts, up to and including trial. Brian advises organizations regarding employment, benefits, and contract negotiations and disputes. His defense litigation background includes representing medical providers and institutions in medical malpractice, employment, and licensing matters in state and federal court and before state agencies. Brian has successfully represented insurers in federal court in ERISA benefits litigation.
Brian graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with his B.A. in Journalism and Political Science in 2007. He earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2010, where he was a member of the South Carolina Law Review.
Brian began his legal career with a civil defense firm in Columbia, South Carolina, where he dedicated his practice to civil defense litigation. He served as a director of the health care and employment group at a firm in Boston, Massachusetts, before joining HunterMaclean.
