Georgia Super Lawyers recently honored seven HunterMaclean attorneys as 2007 Rising Stars, setting a new firm record. Brad Harmon, Matt Henderson, Adam G. Kirk, Bates Lovett, Jessica L. McClellan, Colin McRae and Chris Smith have each been named Rising Stars in recognition of their outstanding contributions to law in Georgia.
The list of Georgia Rising Stars, which represents more than 60 practice areas, will be published in the October 2007 issue of Atlanta magazine and in a special issue of Georgia Super Lawyers: Rising Stars, which is mailed to every attorney in the state. All Georgia Rising Stars are 40 or younger or have been in practice for 10 years or less.
“We are thrilled that seven of our top young attorneys have been selected for this outstanding honor,” said Brooks Stillwell, client development partner at HunterMaclean. “This recognition is certainly well-deserved for each of these hard-working individuals.”
Every year, Rising Stars honors the top young lawyers in Georgia as chosen by Georgia Super Lawyers and through the independent research of Law & Politics. Only 2.5 percent of Peach State attorneys are named Rising Stars.
Rising Stars are typically selected based upon ballots sent to the most recent group of Super Lawyers, which consists of the top five percent of attorneys in the state. Super Lawyers then vote for the best attorneys who are either 40 or under or who have been practicing 10 or fewer years. They are instructed to vote for lawyers they have personally observed in action, whether as opposing counsel or through other first-hand courtroom observation.
