HunterMaclean’s MRM Pro Bono Project, an effort to provide legal assistance and volunteers to address critical needs in the community, is reaching out to students at East Broad Elementary School.
“This pro bono program is an effort to prioritize and put our energy into a handful of specific programs,” said Jennifer Dickinson, an associate at HunterMaclean who helped spearhead the new program and serves on the MRM Pro Bono Project Committee. “It’s a very community-focused initiative. We wanted to bring projects that address specific needs in the community, from literacy to homelessness.”
As part of the pro bono program, HunterMaclean staff and attorneys have been visiting East Broad Elementary School every Thursday morning to read to third- and fourth-grade classes. LeeAnn Aldridge, a partner in the firm, recently spoke to students at the school’s Career Day to teach the children about being an attorney.
The MRM Pro Bono Project is named after the late Malcolm Maclean, a former Savannah mayor and a key partner at HunterMaclean.
