Savannah Bar Association Announces New Elected Officers
The Savannah Bar Association, a local extension of the State Bar of Georgia, recently announced a new slate of elected officers for 2009-2010.
Jennifer J. Dickinson, an attorney at HunterMaclean, has been named President of the Savannah Bar Association. William K. Broker, managing attorney for Georgia Legal Services’s Savannah Regional Office, will serve as President-Elect. Gregory Sapp, principal of Sapp Law Group, has been elected Treasurer, while Lisa Colbert, assistant county attorney of Chatham County, has been elected Secretary.
“We have a fantastic executive board and we’re all looking forward to furthering the Savannah Bar Association’s distinguished tradition of service,” said Dickinson. “Together, we will honor the legacy of the Savannah Bar Association’s efforts in both the practice of law and in the community, while also looking to the future and examining ways in which we can achieve even more.”
The officers will oversee more than 430 members of the professional organization of local attorneys and will continue pro-bono activities and projects to benefit the community at large. The Savannah Bar Association, which is affiliated with the State Bar of Georgia, meets the second Thursday of each month.
The State Bar of Georgia exists to foster among the members of the Bar the principles of duty and service to the public, to improve the administration of justice, and to advance the science of law. All attorneys authorized to practice law in Georgia are required to be members.
