Attorney Nicholas J. Laybourn has been named a partner at HunterMaclean. Laybourn joined the firm in 2008 and is an experienced litigator who has successfully represented businesses and individuals in Georgia’s state and federal courts.
His clients often include local, regional and national companies involved in lawsuits throughout the region. His practice areas include medical malpractice, business litigation, transportation law and products liability. In his work with the HunterMaclean’s Gas Station and Convenience Store Industry Group, Laybourn has successfully represented businesses and property owners in disputes involving leaking underground storage tanks.
Honored as a Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star, Laybourn is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, Georgia’s trial courts and the Georgia Court of Appeals. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute and the Savannah Bar Association.
Laybourn earned a J.D. from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Ga. and a B.S. in Marketing from Clemson University in Clemson, S.C. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Coastal Center for Developmental Services, Inc.
