HunterMaclean partner Chris Phillips was recently inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
ABOTA is a national association of trial lawyers and judges dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. ABOTA works to uphold the jury system by educating the American public about the history and value of the right to trial by jury.
At HunterMaclean, Phillips concentrates his practice in medical malpractice defense, construction law, products liability, insurance law and general litigation. He defends hospitals, physicians, nurses and other health care related professionals in medical malpractice matters and has successfully defended numerous wrongful death and permanent injury cases for various health care providers.
He also focuses in the area of contract and personal injury litigation related to the construction industry and has experience representing numerous contractors, owners, bonding companies, design professionals and subcontractors.
Phillips is a member of the Savannah Bar Association and an active community volunteer. He serves on several boards and committees associated with Benedictine Military School, including the Alumni and Athletic Associations and several fundraising committees. He is a past-captain of the Savannah Quarterback Club and a member of Chatham-Savannah Citizen Advocacy and the German Friendly Society.
He graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law with a J.D., cum laude, and earned a B.S. in Forest Resources and an M.F.R. in Forest Business Management from the University of Georgia.
