HunterMaclean, a leading law firm headquartered in Savannah, is pleased to announce that longtime partner Lane Morrison has been named vice president of the Savannah Benevolent Association.
Founded in 1854 to assist families of yellow fever victims, the Savannah Benevolent Association is a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping others in their time of need through acts of service and charitable contributions.
“I’m honored to serve an organization with such a long and illustrious history in the community,” said Morrison. “For more than 150 years, the Savannah Benevolent Association has served as a ray of light in the darkest times. I’m delighted to help further the organization’s mission of helping those in need.”
A veteran HunterMaclean attorney, Morrison practices in the area of Estates and Trusts and Taxation and has experience counseling clients on a wide range of asset protection, tax planning and trust and estate administration issues. He also has extensive experience dealing with charitable organizations.
Morrison graduated from the University of North Carolina with an A.B. in 1967 and from Emory University with a J.D. in 1970 where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia as well as the Fiduciary Law and Tax Sections of the State Bar of Georgia.
An avid conservationist, Morrison currently serves on the Ducks Unlimited Conservation Programs Committee and is the former chairman of the South Carolina chapter of The Nature Conservancy, a non-profit organization that has preserved more than 117 million acres of land around the world since 1951.
