Legal Awareness in the Workplace: ADA Accommodations and Your Firm

September 22, 2015

Georgia Southern University’s new season of Legal Awareness in the Workplace seminars begins in August and runs through January. Human Resource professionals, office managers, supervisors, and other business leaders are invited to attend 90-minute professional development seminars on important employment law issues. Seminars are held monthly, rotating from the law office of HunterMaclean in Brunswick, the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center on campus in Statesboro, and the Coastal Georgia Center in Savannah.

Legal Awareness in the Workplace (LAW) 118: ADA Accommodations and Your Firm will be presented by attorney Wade Herring on Tuesday, September 22, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at HunterMaclean’s Brunswick office. Wade will inform participants of what the newly strengthened Americans with Disabilities Act means to employers. Armed with this knowledge, they will be able to ensure that their firms are compliant with the ADA.

Georgia Southern University is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-SCP and the SHRM-CP. Upon completion of the seminar, attendees will receive 1.5 credit hours toward a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) re-certification that complies with the rules of the Human Resources Certification Institute.

The seminar fee is $59 for individuals and $55 each for four or more per firm. The registration deadline is 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 15.
