HunterMaclean, a leading business law firm with offices in Savannah and St. Simons Island, recently welcomed A. Michael Barnes as an associate in the Firm’s corporate practice group.
Michael’s practice focuses on advising clients on a broad array of corporate and business legal matters, including capitalization and financing, selection and formation of business entities, debt and equity financing arrangements, private securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations, venture capital and private equity transactions, and joint ventures and strategic alliances.
Michael received a B.A. in History from Arkansas State University and his J.D. from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law.
Before pursuing a legal career, Michael served six years as a squad leader in the U.S. Army Infantry, including two deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was awarded the Combat Badge for his service in addition to multiple commendation awards for valor.
Michael lives in Bluffton, South Carolina, and is a board member of the Savannah Shamrocks Rugby Club.
