Colin McRae, a partner at the law firm of HunterMaclean, has been named chairman of the Chatham County Board of Registrars, effective July 1.
As chairman of the board, McRae will oversee voter registration, absentee voting, voter ID and advance voting sites in Chatham County. He assumes duties from outgoing Chatham County Board of Registrars chairman Skip Jennings.
McRae’s legal practice areas include Admiralty, Business Litigation, Election Law and Intellectual Property. He has experience in disputes involving real estate, commercial transactions, premise liability, maritime tort and contract matters.
McRae graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in History in 1995. He joined HunterMaclean immediately after graduating from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1999. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Savannah Bar Association and the past president of the Savannah Bar Association’s Younger Lawyers Division.
Originally from Savannah, McRae serves on the board of directors of the Economic Opportunity Authority of Savannah/Chatham County, the Community Health Mission and the Chatham County Board of Registrars. He is also an attorney coach for the high school mock trial team at Savannah Country Day School, his alma mater.
