November 17, 2015
Presented by Shawn A. Kachmar in Savannah, Georgia, on November 17, 2015, as part of Georgia Southern University’s series on Legal Awareness in the Workplace. New interpretations and decisions on the FMLA, ADA & Workers Comp laws require HR to stay constantly updated on employee-leave issues. Attendees learned when and how to apply unpaid leave, accommodate injured workers with re-assignment, implement missed-work policies, and approve medical leave requests. Shawn also discussed various state and federal laws that provide for employee leave or job protections for military service, jury duty, and voting, among other situations.
