David Sipple is a partner in the Savannah office and practices in the areas of admiralty law and insurance law.

David is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Georgia. He is a member of the Savannah Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the State Bar of Georgia. David also belongs to the Maritime Law Association of the United States, in which he serves on the Committee on Marine Ecology and Criminal Law and the Committee on Marine Torts and Casualties; the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, in which he is a past chairman of the Institute; and the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, in which he serves on the Maritime Law Committee. David has been an associate editor of the publication American Maritime Cases since 1997.

He is the author of several articles on admiralty law published in the Mercer Law Review and was a speaker on the topic of Eleventh Circuit, Sixth Circuit, and Eighth Circuit Review at the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute’s 1995 and 2004 Continuing Legal Education seminars. David also spoke at the 2009 annual meeting of the Maritime Law Association of the United States on the topic of Legal Professionalism.

David is a past member of the board of directors of the International Seamen’s House and is a past president of the Port of Savannah Propeller Club. He is also a past president of the Hibernian Society of Savannah and a past chairman of the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute.

David graduated with a B.A. in 1966 and a master’s in Public Administration in 1969 from the University of Georgia. He received a J.D., cum laude, from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 1972.
