Gracie Shepherd Saas is an associate in HunterMaclean’s litigation practice group. She works with businesses and individuals on a wide variety of general and commercial litigation matters, including product liability, real estate litigation, trust and estate litigation, fiduciary liability, professional liability, contract disputes, and trade secrets litigation, at both the trial and appellate levels. She also assists hospitals and healthcare companies in navigating complex legal and ethical challenges, including difficult discharges, questions of treatment consent and end-of-life care, and the involuntary commitment and behavioral health process under Georgia law. Gracie also has experience assisting clients in complex transactional matters, such as sales of closely held corporations, estate and gift planning, and securities regulation.

Gracie is admitted to practice before all state trial and appellate courts in Georgia and all U.S. District Courts of Georgia. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Savannah Bar Association, and she has served on the executive boards of the Savannah Bar Association Young Lawyers Division and the Savannah Chapter of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers.

Gracie attended Thomas Edison State College, where she completed a B.A. in Liberal Studies and Humanities in less than two years. Before law school, she worked as a business reporter covering the 2008 financial crisis. She also worked in her family’s cotton brokerage firm in Waynesboro, Georgia, assisting cotton producers and merchants with spot pricing, forward contracting, commodity futures transactions, and hedging strategies. Gracie earned her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law.

Outside of her legal practice, Gracie is an active member of the community. She currently serves as the president of the board of trustees for the Live Oak Public Libraries Foundation, serves on the board for Urban Hope Ministries, and is a member of the campaign cabinet for United Way of  the Coastal Empire. She and her husband Jake Saas enjoy trying new restaurants, spending time outdoors, and exploring everything Coastal Georgia has to offer.
