Sam is an associate in HunterMaclean’s corporate practice group. His practice focuses on all aspects of general corporate representation and negotiating mergers and acquisitions. Sam works with growth-stage to medium-sized businesses, primarily in technology and health care industries. He has negotiated transactions against every major health care insurance company, some of the largest hospital systems in the country, and against and for multiple alphabet-soup government agencies.

Sam works closely with C-suites and boards of directors and provides legal counsel at the highest levels of decision-making on the various problems businesses face. He has made media appearances online and gives presentations on a variety of legal subjects affecting businesses today. Sam prides himself in his ability to earn the trust and confidence of the business leaders with whom he works.

Sam is a member of the State Bars of Georgia and Florida. He is also a member of the Technology and Health Law sections of the Georgia Bar, Savannah Bar Association, and Young Lawyers Division.

Sam graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.A. in Global and International Studies in 2012. As part of his undergraduate studies, he spent time in Cairo, Egypt. He went on to earn his M.B.A. in 2014 from the University of Saint Mary and his J.D., cum laude, in 2017 from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he served as general editor of the Florida Journal of International Law.

After beginning his practice in Tampa, Florida, Sam has established himself in Savannah with his wife, Lauren, and their two daughters. In his spare time, in addition to spending time with his family, Sam has a passion for soccer, which he coached at the collegiate level and still enjoys playing, coaching, and spectating.

  • Represented seller, a multi-entity group of physician practices focused on skilled rehabilitation and transition care for patients, in sale to a private equity-backed health care company.
  • Served as general counsel to patient scheduling software-as-a-service provider through sale to the technology arm of publicly traded national insurance carrier.
  • Served as general counsel to both provider groups and standalone facilities and technology vendors in the healthcare industry.
  • Represented multiple sellers in commercial insurance industry in sales to regional and national agencies.
  • Negotiated multimillion dollar contract between state energy agency and customer accounts technology vendor.
