Stuart Wallace is an associate in the Savannah office, where he focuses his practice on real estate business transactional law. Stuart has substantial transactional, compliance, and business organizational experience in residential and commercial real estate, sports, and small and mid-size business contexts, respectively.

Stuart was born in Atlanta, Georgia and has spent time in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Tampa, Florida. He earned his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science in 2015 from Presbyterian College, where he was the president of Sigma Nu Fraternity and the founder of the club baseball team. He went on to earn his J.D., cum laude, from Georgia State University’s College of Law in 2019. As a law student, he received the CALI Award of Excellence for Mergers & Acquisitions and was selected to participate in the GSU Law Center for the Comparative Study of Metropolitan Growth’s Urban Fellows Program. He also completed a legislative internship with the Georgia House Democratic Caucus and a legal externship with the GSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Stuart is admitted to practice before the Georgia Superior, Appeals, and Supreme Courts, as well as within the District of Columbia.


Experience

Representative Engagements

  • Served as local counsel and led due diligence efforts for a Fortune 100 company in its Georgia real estate acquisition transactions.
  • Partnered with several AmLaw 100 firms to conduct due diligence and facilitate the seamless purchase of multimillion-dollar raw land, commercial, industrial, and multifamily properties.
  • Negotiated and drafted commercial lease agreements with big box retailers throughout the southern United States.
  • Served as special local counsel in connection with the issuance of enforceability and authority opinions for multimillion-dollar loan transaction securing commercial properties throughout the southeastern United States.
  • Guided multinational companies and individual applicants through the rezoning process throughout the Savannah–Hinesville–Statesboro–Jesup metropolitan area.
  • Represented selling entity in multimillion-dollar business asset sale.
  • Negotiated and drafted various title documents, including but not limited to reciprocal easement agreements, declarations, and deeds.
  • Served as counsel for various commercial investors and landlords leasing high-end shopping centers and districts.
  • Served as counsel for various national developers on zoning and land use matters in the Savannah–Hinesville–Statesboro–Jesup metropolitan area.
  • Performed due diligence, zoning assessments, and title work for Coastal Georgia real estate investment firms focused on environmental regeneration and restoration.
  • Served as title counsel responsible for drafting documents for and facilitating an over $1 million debt purchase and assignment.
  • Represented buyer in a multimillion-dollar historic building acquisition in downtown Savannah.
  • Negotiated purchase of iconic office building in Savannah’s Historic District.
  • Led title, survey, and zoning due diligence efforts on commercial real estate acquisitions concerning properties in Florida, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.
  • Represented selling entity in the sale of a metro Atlanta shopping center.
